CEREALS

Cereals, such as wheat, corn, barley, and others, are cultivated in the plains of the Region. Their perfect adaptability to the soil and the climatic conditions, combined with the knowledge and experience of the farmers, has positioned the Region at the top in terms of total cultivated land in the country.
Flour, both soft and hard, as well as corn flour, has been utilized by the industry and by dozens of women’s cooperatives that produce, mainly traditional pasta, such as noodles, couscous, and other products, such as the famous red Thracian trahanas with vegetables.
