The Members of the BOD define the strategy of the Partnership, select the actions and participate in their implementation.

BENEFITS
The Members of the Agri-Food Partnership participate in the following:

FARMERS / BREEDERS
Farmers and breeders, who are interested in upgrading their production, can take advantage of opportunities through their participation in the Agri-Food Partnership, such as:
- Participation in the Partnership’s decisions regarding strategy planning
- Training in modern technologies, methods, trends and perceptions/requirements to achieve high-quality competitive products
- Technical and advisory support
- Promotion of local agricultural products in domestic and foreign markets
- Participation in actions to enhance the awareness of the agri-food products of the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace, the goal being to increase the demand for their products
- Participation in synergies between the agricultural and processing sector
- Participation in programs for the preservation and promotion of local varieties and breeds.
- Support the adoption of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices at the stage of cultivation and harvesting of products
- Participation in research and preservation actions of the local rural heritage and the natural rural environment.
- Information on improving the quality of the products produced
- Advisory support and constant updating on issues regarding the development of rural entrepreneurship.
- Participation in training programs for youth and unemployed in agricultural and breeding farms to introduce new professionals, and strengthen the business field.
- Defining a single policy regarding obligations and requirements concerning the environment and society aiming at sustainable development (ESG criteria).

FOOD INDUSTRIES
Food industries, that are or will become Members of the Agri-food, have the opportunity to participate in:
- Promotion programs of locally produced agricultural products in domestic and foreign markets
- Initiatives that will contribute to increasing the demand for the products in the “basket”
- Programs offering technical and advisory support in the manufacturing sector
- Actions to support the creation of start-ups and innovative businesses in the agri-food sector.
- Participation in exhibitions, at a preferential price

- Actions to improve the awareness and consequently the demand for the agri-food products of the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace
- Clusters for research and innovation
- Actions to promote the competitive advantages of locality and gastronomic and cultural heritage

- Promoting the history of important industrial businesses and recording their economic, social and environmental footprint
- Consulting on corporate governance and defining a single policy on environmental and social issues with a view to the sustainable development of the food industry.

MUNICIPALITIES
The operation of the Agri-Food Partnership will upgrade the activity of agri-food businesses in the region of local municipalities, and will contribute to:
- Building a solid alliance of municipal authorities with the bodies of education, research and entrepreneurship to achieve substantial reforms that will support the development of the whole region
- Creating start-ups and innovative businesses in the region
- Development of businesses and empowerment of human resources by providing increased employment opportunities
- Promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly practices followed by local businesses at all stages of production and processing
- Enhancing municipalities’ branding to export an integrated thematic tourism product around the agri-food sector, culture, and thermalism.
- Networking with corresponding municipalities abroad to exchange ideas and best practices.
- Creating a strategic plan for the Region for transition to sustainable development, and to create a relevant incubator.

HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS / RESEARCH CENTERS
The participation of higher education institutions and research centers supports the connection between the needs of the real economy and the educational and research process. In this way, the following are achieved:
- Strengthening of the relations between the educational and research system of the country with businesses, industry and the local economy in general
- Develop the competencies, knowledge and skills necessary to face the challenges of the present and the future
- Constant exchange of information, ideas and experiences between the three sides
- Recording of real data that affect local development
- Development of the local economy at a faster pace and by improvement of the qualitative characteristics
- Bridging theory and practice, science and production, exploring forms of synergy at every level, highlighting their efficient relationship
- Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the knowledge society
- Improving methods of recording and mapping data, problems, and aspirations, for scientific processing, developing an integrated policy of synergy with the crop, industry and business sectors
- Participation in European educational programs in connection with corresponding bodies and institutions abroad, aiming to create thematic seminars for training youth.

BODIES AND CHAMBERS
Bodies and chambers strengthen their goals and actions with their participation while at the same time achieving:
- Contribution to the achievement of a massive and as representative as possible participation of farmers, breeders and entrepreneurs, as increased participation rates will lead to faster development results
- Formulation of mechanisms that will complement the initiatives of other bodies (farmers, associations, private bodies, etc.).

MASS CATERING & TOURISM
Mass catering and tourism are in dialogue for development with the agri-food sector. Through their participation in the Agro-food Partnership, the following is achieved:
- Integrated interconnection of the agri-food sector with catering, tourism and culture, and mutual benefit for all participants
- Promotion of the wide variety of agri-food products, the nutritional traditions of local gastronomy and the culture on which they are based thus contributing to the further tourism and economic development of all the Region
- Strengthening the social ties between the representatives of the three business fields, which will lead to further strengthening of business fields and the economy of the Region
- A shift of producers to selected crops, if an available market and a qualitative improvement of the marketed products are confirmed
- Upgrading the culinary experience of tourists
- Enhancing the competitiveness of all three business fields
- Contribution to achieving environmental and social objectives by highlighting the value chain of final products.
