THE COMPANY

The Agri-Food Partnership is a civil non-profit company (NGO) in which participate: the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, producers, and entrepreneurs of the Region, representatives of bodies, local authorities, and higher education institutions. The Members, in cooperation with the Board of Directors, participate in developing the strategy of the Partnership and in the selection and implementation of actions.

VISION & MISSION

The vision of the Partnership is the integrated reconstruction of the agri-food sector, ensuring the economic development of businesses and the region while emphasizing the social and environmental dimension of the development.

Utilizing tools such as information and training for entrepreneurs and employees, scientific support, along with an ongoing dialogue with the State, and actions for the promotion and marketing of products, the Agro-food Partnership creates the conditions for ensuring added value for local agro-food products, strengthening the agro-food sector.

Transfer of technology and know-how through synergies with higher education institutions and research centers, the introduction of innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises that constitute the majority in the agri-food sector, networking of enterprises in the sector with other sectors of the economy, the modernization of farms, synergies between enterprises within Greece, but also internationally and more actions, ensure the effectiveness of the sector’s development.

OBJECTIVE

The objectives of the Agri-Food Partnership include actions of a holistic approach to the development of the agri-food sector. These include:

Promotion of the products of local producers and businesses and their promotion at local, national, and international levels.

2.

Study, recording, and preservation of the traditional production models and consumption standards of the Region.

3.

Offer local products of high quality and high safety respecting the local cultural heritage.

4.

Study of agricultural products at all stages from production to distribution, for their better promotion.

5.

Preservation and promotion of local varieties and breeds.

6.

Strengthening employment, increasing producers’ and entrepreneurs’ income, and enhancing the quality of life of those in the sector, emphasizing sustainable development and environmental protection.

7.

Foster innovation in production, standardization, and marketing of the products from the Region.

8.

Connection of the educational and research sector with the agri-food sector, as well as with gastronomy and the tourism sector of the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace.

9.

Active participation of the Agri-Food Partnership in Operational Groups of European Innovation Partnerships (EIP).

10.

Strengthening the extroversion of businesses in the agri-food sector of the Region.
