EVROS CHAMBER

The Chamber of Evros was established in 1921 by the Royal Decree 5/10/1921 (Government Gazette 192/1921) and had the name: “Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dedeagats of Thrace” (note. In 1988, based on Law 1746, it was renamed to “Evros Chamber” and according to this Law it operates to date, with permanent headquarters in Alexandroupolis).

During its long course, the Chamber of Evros developed numerous activities, always within the framework of Laws 184/1914, 1089/1980, 1746/1988 and 2081/1992 and 4497/2017, which are valid to the present day.

The Chamber of Evros is under the supervision of the Ministry of Development and is a member of the Central Union of Chambers of Greece (K.E.E.E.), the Hellenic Chambers & Business Transport Association (E.E.SY.M) and the International Chamber of Commerce. Therefore, it serves as an essential and integral link between the respective government authority and the businesses-members of the Prefecture, without, however, exercising union activity It includes five sections: Export, Manufacturing, Commercial, Services and Tourism. The number of active members is to date 8,300.
