PORTOKALLIDIS Cottage industry

Portokallidis Cottage Industry was established in 2017 in the border town of Feres, Evros, and produces traditional tomato sauce with raw materials cultivated by ourselves.

Our goal from the start was to create a product that would have the quality of handmade, with a price affordable for every household We also wanted to overturn the prevailing view that “commercial products are not like homemade ones.”.

The only way to control the consistent quality of the sauce is to cultivate the tomatoes ourselves, and that’s one of our strengths.

Although the cottage industry has existed for only 7 years, we managed to win important distinctions in taste and quality competitions. The awards we have won so far are ELEVEN, including the International Taste Institute 2019 and 2022 based in Brussels, where we won a star.
